I’m Melanie Cantrell, the face behind Chasing Carolina~
I am a mom to two amazing teenage daughters. I’m married to a really cool and talented wildlife biologist ~ They are my pride and joy… I love being with them more than anything else in the world~the defining relationship in my life is with Jesus Christ~
I love to hike in the beautiful { Great Smoky Mountains National Park } Before I had children I worked as a National Park Ranger in this beautiful park. I became familiar with every corner of this area as I worked with black bears and wild hogs. I actually got paid to hike and camp in the backcountry. I’m so blessed to live next door to this incredible place~
I { Travel } every chance I get and I love to discover new places~
One of my favorite things to do is { Explore } out of the way and abandoned places. The history behind old buildings fascinates me. Stepping into one of these structures is like stepping back into a simpler time and I can just imagine what it was like to live or work there~
I’m a { Freelance Photographer } who enjoys meeting new people and helping them preserve their favorite memories~ I specialize in outdoor photography and would love the chance to get together with you in your favorite location in and around Asheville, North Carolina. Of course, if you have a special event coming up someplace special, for example… Maui, Hawaii, I could be persuaded to travel!
